New appointments by OTS further emphasise large firm bias

The Office for Tax Simplification (OTS) has announced 4 new appointments all of who come from large organisations.

I have no doubt that the standard of tax at Deloitte, BDO and PWC is of the highest order but in reality, do these people have a proper understanding of the tax issues affecting small business and the self employed.

Isn’t this just another example of large organisation bias that permeates most legislation affecting business.  Where is the representative from a smaller firm, or dealing with small firms and their tax issues who is going be the voice of this crucial part of the economy.  The fact is, probably no one.
