Team Focus: Grant Pierrus, from PR to Project Management
I moved to London from my home in Greenpoint, South Africa just over a year ago and my first job in the UK has been with Westbury.
In South Africa I had been running my own Team Building and Social Responsibility company – so with a background in effective 
project management, Keith and Howard didn’t hesitate to get me involved with a number of projects relating to the effective running of an accounting practice.
It’s been a steep learning curve – as the professional services arena is certainly a different one to that of the advertising and media one – and I’ve learnt a great amount from the two of them in the relatively short time I’ve been at Westbury.
One project in particular has been a great challenge to get stuck into – and that has been the development of the Westbury Intranet.
My role in the project has led me from learning how the www.bizzbug.com intranet system works, to tailor-making pages and creating relevant ‘spaces’ ensuring the intranet is a useful and practical resource for everyone working for Westbury. We also use the intranet as a Secure Document Exchange for some of our clients; it’s a fantastic and secure way to exchange documentation – and saves a lot of time searching for documentation - and it’s particularly working well for our book-keeping team.
On a personal note, I get out and about in London quite a bit, enjoying markets (especially Borough market), good restaurants and the range of wine bars. I have travelled quite extensively around Europe whilst here too. And the next trip planned is to a friend’s villa in Italy.
